Interesting battle. Continue reading the post to view my detailed breakdown of the match up.
Not feeling Passda’s round 1. “Let me tell yall a story….” Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinski reference is minus a point too- not a very original first round. This guy doesn’t seem to have much of a flow either. G Soldier wasn’t very original in the first round (hurry up and buy) but his verses were put together way better and he had great flow and mad energy. Passda seems to rely more on the humor in the concepts he uses than the wording, rhyming, and delivery of his verses, which played against him because when those lines fall flat there are no other redeeming qualities. Soldier is a lot more polished of a rapper and when he wasn’t throwing hay makers he kept his momentum going with good rhythm, flow, and energy. Long story short is if you are going to have filler at least make it sound good. “This bitch is a snitch he’ll get you arrested fast cuz he gay, he got his name cause if he found some info on the dirt you did- it’d get passed to the DA” was my favorite line in round one, which G Soldier definitely took.
Round 2- Still stuck on Passdas delivery. I wasn’t feeling anything until “right hurrr….or right thurrr”. Again, just something funny to say. I don’t see much lyricism from his side. “You need to lay off the PCP…you look like a sick, dying Easy-E”. At this point comparison lines should only be used when they are at least somewhat accurate. G Soldier smashed the 2nd round for the same reasons he took the 1st round. Round 2- G Soldier
Round 3- Passda’s best round. “I don’t wanna make this a racist thing/ but if you wasn’t wearin fubu’s i would take ya jeans”. I liked G Soldiers entire third round. This round was the same story as the rest of the battle. Round 3- G-Soldier
G Soldier is very dynamic, while Passda is completely one dimensional. 100% of his material consisted of ideas and concepts that make fun of G Soldier without any patterns, flow, energy, or *insert ANY part of a good performance* to build a foundation on. While G Soldier didn’t have anything extremely original or hilarious his concepts were still on Passdas level and they sounded a million times better written and delivered in the way he did. I can tell Passda is a funny dude and definitely has potential to be a lot better than he is, but right now I don’t even think he fits into the category of “Rapper”. This battle was a huge mismatch to me but perhaps they were throwing an easy win at G after his close loss with MoodSwangz. G-Soldier in 3.
