Grrrrrrrr!!!!rizzlemania!

Should be a nasty event! Any predictions?

Kevin Beacham, ring leader of Scribble Jam has finally confirmed the persistent rumors that the annual event will be no more. This sucks for many reasons, the biggest for me being that Scribble was the last real legitimate event which hosted a top notch stage battle. Not that Grind Time isn’t a decent substitute, but there’s nothing like witnessing a great live stage battle with beats and mics. The event lasted for 3 days and served as an excellent meeting ground for all walks of hip-hop life.

This fucking sucks.

Juice – Radio Freestyle

Pretty sick. It’s obvious Juice still has it.

A lot went into making this list and even after it’s completion I’m sure I definitely left out some real zingers. It was really hard putting these in ranking order as many of them are equally excellent, but in the end, I had my reasons for why I liked one over the other. You might disagree with the order, but whatever, it’s still a solid collection of some the best rebuttals ever so everybody wins.

I’ve included the entire list after the break, so wait until the video ends if you want to be surprised. Major props to Aaaron for putting this video together for me.

Oddly enough, the guy who couldn’t remember what year it was at Scribble Jam has an accurate and relevant message in his songs. This track is a bit older, but you can download their new material here.

Dumfoundead Vs. TantrumMajor props to AZNRAPS.com for conducting this interview with Tantrum & Dum, two super sick Cali MCs.

This is a super old match from Battle At The Barb. I really love it. “This man do, nothing/ Cause it was a fluke that you served NoCanDo, DAMN YOU!” Lots of hilarious lines from both MCs. Oh, and Illmac’s opener was “I’m sure you all know he won Brainstorm/ But what you didn’t know is he spent the 2 & a half G’s on gay porn.” Sorry about it being cut off.

Enjoy! Also, if you dig his battles, check out this post for a chance to win a copy of Illmaculate’s “The Rain Check Mixtape”.

Any fan of freestyle rap battles should already be aware of the Fresh Coast, the dominant battle force which has racked up more wins in major events than any other region. With multiple Scribble Jam victories and dozens of strong showings all over the nation, this collective of battle technicians has proven themselves to be the top gunners in this highly competitive circuit.

Comprised of battle legends like NoCanDo, TheSaurus, Illmaculate, Okwerdz, Franco, Bo-Rat, Tantrum and more, it’s hard to argue that the Fresh Coast shouldn’t be hailed as the greatest group of battlers in the world.

The Fresh Coast DVD documents the history of these battle veterans, their thoughts on each of their fellow MC’s battle styles, their personal favorite battles, how they wound up with such a dominant scene, the coasts they’ve influenced as well as the biters and clones they’ve spawned.
