You know the deal. Another sweet little freestyle video of these guys killing it while driving around in Cali.
It’s a freestyle video where people are actually freestyling. It’s great to see Okwerdz putting these out so often and if you like ‘em, subscribe to Okwerdz YouTube channel and get them as soon as they drop. Okwerdz has long been one of my favorite freestylers ever and Dizaster is also incredibly entertaining off the top. He puts lots of style into his delivery which is something not enough people do.
Very impressive. I think the beat is horrible and distracting, but the actual freestyle itself is very good. He doesn’t rhyme the most complex words, but he’s rapping super polished without messing up and fumbling his flow which is far more impressive.
I think it’s great that so many of the SMACK/Glock rapper type guys are proving they aren’t so one dimensional with their styles. Arsonol crossing over into the Grind Time league and showing he can dominate in both circuits is a really impressive thing. The same goes for Hollow who can do both the street shit in the New York leagues as well as fly to Cali and rap about dating Martians.

Pretty sick. It’s obvious Juice still has it.
A lot went into making this list and even after it’s completion I’m sure I definitely left out some real zingers. It was really hard putting these in ranking order as many of them are equally excellent, but in the end, I had my reasons for why I liked one over the other. You might disagree with the order, but whatever, it’s still a solid collection of some the best rebuttals ever so everybody wins.
I’ve included the entire list after the break, so wait until the video ends if you want to be surprised. Major props to Aaaron for putting this video together for me.
This is a super old match from Battle At The Barb. I really love it. “This man do, nothing/ Cause it was a fluke that you served NoCanDo, DAMN YOU!” Lots of hilarious lines from both MCs. Oh, and Illmac’s opener was “I’m sure you all know he won Brainstorm/ But what you didn’t know is he spent the 2 & a half G’s on gay porn.” Sorry about it being cut off.
Enjoy! Also, if you dig his battles, check out this post for a chance to win a copy of Illmaculate’s “The Rain Check Mixtape”.
What a fucking awesome battle. Everybody Knows is a monster, but I think Okwerdz definitely took this. Major props to both, and super huge props to Okwerdz for landing Unsigned Hype in this month’s issue of The Source.

Beat 1: Mobb Deep – Burn [download]
Beat 2: Mobb Deep – Keep It Thoro [download]
This battle took place in the finals of the Mic Wars event in Rhode Island. Alius is a legend in the battle circuit for his classic matches against Sage Francis, Jin, Esoteric and many, many others. E.V.I.L. is relatively unknown and his battle career was most likely confined to his local scene.
I miss solid beat battles.
The rest of the battles after the break.

Production:
Brainstorm 3′s superb production quality is completely unrivaled by it’s competition. The transition between each battle is seamless, which gives this battle DVD a certain fluidity that others don’t posess. The sound quality is also excellent. Another unique bonus is an on screen bracket for the final 16 emcees, complete with their name and picture. As far as production value is concerned, Brainstorm 3 is top notch.
